School for School: every subscription has a purpose

School for School: every subscription has a purpose

If you believe that the power of education should give equal opportunities to every child in this world, you may be interested in our social responsibility program. Any school is invited to participate.

School for School

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to get the best education possible. That is why we – at cell.academy – are excited to introduce our program „School for School“. With every new subscription, a school will donate a license to a deserving school of their choice anywhere in the world.

In order to qualify, you will need to provide the following when you subscribe to cell.academy’s Learning Space or purchase a 3D Cell Explorer:

  1. Name of school you wish to donate to
  2. Contact name, phone number, email address at recipient school
  3. Short statement indicating why you wish to donate to the school of your choice.

Please write an e-mail to education@nanolive.ch with all the information mentioned above.

Together, let’s decrease inequality, one school at a time!

Nanolive is launching cell.academy’s Learning Space. The Learning Space is a library of cell data, produced by Nanolive’s 3D Cell Explorer. Students can now explore real cells as they are: alive, in 3D and in motion, and have the possibility to interact with authentic 3D live cell images and videos. Challenge your students with quantitative assignments during your biology lessons.

To learn everything about this brand-new learning solution, we are inviting you to watch our first cell.academy webinar.

We will guide you through the following topics:

  • Introduction to cell.academy and the Learning Space
  • Demonstration on how to interact with authentic 3D & 4D live cell images and videos
  • Exploration of cell.academy’s 3D cell library and lesson plans

There are only so many ways a biology teacher can demonstrate onion cells in their classes, so how do we better engage students with biology?

cell.academy has developed a creative way to teach biology to your students and we will be presenting this concept live next week at NSTA, Atlanta! Do not miss this opportunity to discuss with our team on the spot about this unique 3D Cell Biology Learning Space.

Follow this link to learn more about the dates and our booth number: https://cell.academy/nsta-2018/.

Take active part in the STEM education of your students by exposing them and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related ideas. They will start developing a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a related field.

Live Cells in 3D @ the Frankfurt International School

Live Cells in 3D @ the Frankfurt International School

The International School of Frankfurt is one of the first schools in the world to incorporate the 3D Cell Explorer in their biology lessons. It is not a surprise that the students are much more engaged in their 3D biology lessons now then ever. Teachers have many new possibilities and students are working hands-on with this high end technology.

Rhiannon Wood, Upper School Principal and biology teacher at the International School of Frankfurt adds:

Biology is a naturally interesting subject for the many students who choose to study it, but with the arrival of our new 3D Cell Explorers student interest and engagement has moved to another level! Recently our grade 10 students carried out a cheek cell observation, which using a simple microscope in the past would have resulted in some mild interest as student could actually see (sometimes) one of their own cells. Using the 3D Cell Explorer students were able to observe bacteria on their cheek cell and measure the diameter, height and volume of the nucleus. A whole new world unfolded. Nanolive is allowing teachers to explore many new possibilities for investigations and IB biology students have access to a wider range of explorations for their IAs. Students love using high end tech in their school science lab and find it hugely exciting and motivating.

cell.academy is very excited to see that authentic 3D live cell images and videos in biology lessons inspire the scientists of tomorrow! Check the video below of how teachers are getting acquainted to the 3D CX after their arrival!

Explore Cells in 3D!

Friday, March 16 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Georgia World Congress Center, B408

Presenters: Kulsum Farshori & Lisa Pollaro (Nanolive SA, Switzerland)

Schools are going digital and microscopy should be no exception. This is why we are launching cell.academy: the first online learning space to engage students in discovery of cell biology with real microscopy data from a wide variety of cells and cell processes in 3D and at superior resolution – to explore cells as they are: alive & in motion! Subscription to cell.academy provides access to our interactive software, a comprehensive library of unique and real 3D cell data and 4D time-lapses, detailed teaching contents and challenging assignments for your students.

About Nanolive:

Nanolive’s educational program engages students in interactive biology learning through a revolutionary microscope, the 3D Cell Explorer, which allows to explore living cells in 3D without damaging them. Our mission is to empower educators to develop clear hands-on experiments helping students to gain deeper understanding in cell biology.
